Laura Brehm – Strategic Advisor and Co-Founder


Laura Brehm is a philanthropy advisor with deep experience in institutions of higher education, arts organizations, land conservation and related environmental causes.

From 2003-13, she was the president and CEO of The University of Montana Foundation, the private non-profit corporation supporting the university. She led the University’s largest-ever capital campaign with a goal of $100 million. The campaign exceeded goal by $72 million in private support.  

Before joining the UM Foundation, she spent 2000-2003 as the vice president and national director of development for the Trust for Public Land, where she established development programs across the nation and raised $20 million dollars a year in operating support.

Prior to her service at the Trust for Public Land, she spent more than 15 years in a number of senior advancement positions at the University of California, Berkeley, her alma mater. She founded the development department for Cal Performances, the world-renowned performing arts organization at Berkeley and provided fundraising leadership for a comprehensive $1 billion campaign.

From 1995–2000, she was the assistant dean for development and alumni relations at the Haas Berkeley Business School where she led and successfully completed a $75 million campaign for endowed faculty support. Upon leaving Berkeley the Chancellor presented Laura with the Berkeley Citation, the university’s highest honor for distinguished achievement and notable service to the university.

Laura is committed to community service and has served on numerous boards and advisory councils in California and Montana.
